PRAISE AND PRAYER
This is the confidence we have in approaching God; that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know He hears us- whatever we ask- we know that we have what we asked of Him.”
Jn. 5:14-15

Regional Office

v      Praise God for the expansion of the ministry here in Southern Mindanao. There are already 18 colleges & universities and 6 high schools which have IVCF & ISCF ministries, respectively.  Please pray that the different fellowships will be sustained especially next school year. We thank the Lord for the partnership we shared with the GTs, student leaders and advisers.

v      Our thrust of intensifying local trainings is picking up. We aim to develop/equip more student leaders for the ministry not just for this school year but also for next school year. Praise God for the high level initiative of the GTs & student leaders. There were 6 Leadership trainings/retreats conducted  this semester (2 in Tagum, 2 in North Cotabato & 2 in General Santos City)  Please pray that the students’ commitment to serve God will be sustained & that they will lead their respective campuses especially next school year.

v      We thank the Lord for graduates who offered their homes/space as venue for the overnight trainings/retreats & who sponsored meals, transportation & other expenses to make the training possible & affordable to the students.

v        Praise God for the conversion of 143 high school and college students during the second semester.  Please pray that they will be nurtured in their faith & will continue to join the Bible Study groups next school year.

v      We thank the Lord that before the school year ends there are  small groups  formed (aside from the large groups) in Daniel Aguinaldo High School This is significant because amidst the hundreds of ISCF contacts through religious instructions, there are around 3 who are willing to be discipled. We hope that this will produce a multiplier effect. Please pray for the high school ministry next school year as Fe will be taking an indefinite leave. May the Lord give us wisdom on how to strengthen the ISCF ministry in the region.

v      We thank the Lord for the ministry of Kuya Ray Poral & Kuya Jordan Reyes. Their burden goes beyond Southern Mindanao. They are also helping Northern Mindanao by visiting the graduates monthly (until August when IVPM-NM will be stabilized) for encouragement & equipping. They will also go to Cateel, Comval Province to meet the IVCF graduates there. These are examples of men with a vision greater than themselves & are willing to do whatever they can to be God’s instruments in fulfilling God’s vision for the world. Please pray for God’s protection upon them as they travel a lot. Pray too that the Lord will raise many of their kind.

v      Praise God for the resumption of the Bible study in UM- Matina Davao City.  Please pray that the enthusiasm of the students will be sustained as they meet again next school year.

v    Darby will also come in as Associate Staff for northern Davao area by June 2003. His entry as an associate staff is timely since the work in Tagum & Kapalong are getting bigger (GCF, IVCF, ISCF). However, this move will cause the vacancy of the Regional Press Relation Officer.  Please pray that between now & May we may be able to find one who can replace Darby & whom he can tag-along with during his remaining area visits. Pray also for God’s protection in their travels throughout Southern Mindanao.

“Faith is confidence in the righteous character of God that fosters trust and hope even when our circumstances foster doubt and despair.”

-Dr. Woodrow Kroll.

v      SMRU also aims to send 10 delegates for KC 2003.  The students & some graduates are raising funds for the KC delegates. Please pray that we may be able to raise approximately P100, 000.00 for the camp fee & fare.  Pray for the preparedness of the delegates (spiritually, emotionally & psychologically) to go through the said training.

v      Please pray for the peace & order here in Southern Mindanao. For the past months, several bombings & other atrocities are happening in the region (war in Pikit, bombings in Marbel, Tacurong, Davao City, ambushes of buses, etc.). May the Lord intervene over the plans of evil men in sowing terror in the region & in Mindanao. Pray that in spite of these volatile peace & order situation many can still join the ISCF camps this April 28-May 2.

v      The region also intends to intensify material reproduction as resources & references for our GTs & student leaders throughout the region. Hence, we are praying for a Photocopier. Please pray that the Lord would provide us ways and means to raise the needed funds.

Jether spoke the word of God, emphasising that God has called them to a glorious ministry and a life of integrity.  Jasher inducted the officers who reaffirmed their allegiance to Jesus Christ and to the glorious ministry God entrusted to them. The rest of the time was spent in planning for the first semester activities. Pray for God’s wisdom, direction and empowerment for Aileen Nicolas as she leads the fellowship.
